Autobiography

As an avid animal lover, traveller, reader, outdoorsman (or woman if you prefer), stress eater, and student (GO BIG RED), I am a person that loves adventure and finds excitement in just about everything. I travel whenever I can inside and outside of the country. I have seen two wonders of the world and visited 5 countries outside of the U.S-- which barely scrapes the surface of the places I hope to see someday. I also immensely enjoy reading (mainly fiction, though). Some of my favorite books include Harry Potter, Tamar, Wuthering Heights, and Bloody Jack, but I'll happily read just about anything that is put in front of me. However, when it is nice outside you usually can't get me to sit still for long enough to absorb anything so I oftentimes turn to the outdoors for my entertainment. I love everything from running, hiking, camping, kayaking and taking naps in the sun to snow skiing, wake boarding, and surfing.

Unfortunately, the sort of time needed to engage in such activities is sparse due to the fact that I am also a full time student at the University of Nebraska-- Lincoln. I am in my second year at the University but am just finishing my first semester as a Pre- Secondary English and Language Arts major. After much wishy-washing, I officially decided that this was what I wanted to do upon returning from a summer of teaching English abroad. The time I spent abroad was the first time I had felt passionate about a potential career option, and I have not regretted my decision since. I currently hope to graduate in 3 years from now and want to teach English as a Foreign Language to students both outside and inside of the United States (although at separate times, of course). I thoroughly enjoy my classes and the atmosphere at the University, but I am excited to get my degree and enter the world doing something that I love.
